International Ordering

We are pleased to now offer digital downloads and also many of our CDs to our customers outside North America. See below for more information.

How do I tell what titles are available to me in my country?

Look at the information below the cover of a title on its product detail page. Rights vary by product format (CD vs. download), so check for “Download edition available to” or “CD edition ships to” language.

What do you mean by “my country”?

Ulitimately, your country is the one on your credit card's billing address. However, initially the system only has your computer’s IP address to judge from, which is why we recommend you register/login before you start shopping.

Can I ship to a country other than my own?

Our website currently does not allow you to bill from one country but ship to another. This is due to constraints in the system to prevent accidental sales outside our legal territories. For instance, if you order with a US billing address but a Canadian shipping address, even if we have rights to sell that title into Canada, the transaction will not go through. Please call 1-800-755-8532 or email highbridge@highbridgeaudio.com. If we have the right to sell to your ship-to country (“AVAILABILITY” information located underneath the cover image on each product page), we’ll process your order offline.

Can I order from a country other than my own?

Sorry, no. The same issues as shipping to another country apply. Again, feel free to contact us, as we may be able to help directly.

Why aren’t all your titles available in all countries throughout the world?

While many HighBridge titles are available for sale throughout the world, for some titles we only have the right to sell in certain territories. In publishing, rights to sell titles are sold by territory (for example: World or North America or US only) as well as by format (for example: paperback or audio or e-book). HighBridge buys the right to sell audio editions of a title from an original rights holder (may be the print edition publisher, may be the author). While HighBridge obtains “World, English language” rights whenever possible, sometimes pieces of the World—such as the UK or the Commonwealth—have already been sold or are being retained by the original rights holder.

HighBridge takes its obligations seriously and makes a good faith effort to sell our titles only where we have the legal right to do so.

I got a message when I was shopping a title that said “the title may not be available for sale to your country” and yet I was able to purchased it in the end. Why?

As described in the question “What do you mean by ‘my country’”, before you register and provide your billing address or log in (which also makes your billing information known to the system), the site uses your computer’s IP address to “guess” at where you live. For instance, a service person or a student studying abroad might initially be told a “US only” title may not be available to them. However, once that person logs in and starts to check out, the checkout and credit card authorization processes recognize them as holding a credit card with a US billing address.

When you say a title is available in the US, does that also mean it is available to US dependencies such as American Samoa and Puerto Rico?

Yes. When we say a title is available in the “US” that also includes the US dependencies of American Samoa, Guam, USA Minor Outlying Islands, US Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands.

Some titles are listed as having rights that exclude “the Commonwealth.” What constitutes “the Commonwealth”?

The Commonwealth of Nations, formerly the British Commonwealth, is a large and diverse group of countries, a complete list of which can be found on their website.

I’m sure I did everything right, and yet I still got a “transaction declined” message. WHY?

Some UK and Canadian credit cards in particular use a fraud prevention method called “Address Verification Service (AVS).” Unfortunately, US credit card gateway processors have not figured out a way to properly read UK and Canada AVS data, which varies from the similar US AVS system. The result is the US system assumes fraud and returns a “Transaction Declined” message. You can try a different card that may not use AVS or, again, contact us directly. Obviously, our goal is an easy order process for you. We will continue to work on ways to improve that process.
