Worth every penny Review by Marcia
A friend told me about PHC in the mid-70's, and I've listened to it almost every week since then. I asked for and received this recording for my birthday last week, and am I SO glad I did. I'm partial to the old shows and their music, and this brings back happy memories.
This recording would be fun enough, but when I heard Soupy Schindler blow the heck out of a harmonica, I knew I hit paydirt. He is (or was, he died, unfortunately) by far the best blues harp musician I've ever heard.
There are some fantastic songs on these 2 CD's. I'm a fan of Butch Thompson, Peter Ostroushko, and Dakota Dave Hull, and miss them on the show, so this is a real treat. The sound quality is excellent, clear and bright, just perfect. I hope PHC will produce more of the music from the old shows. You don't have to be as old as I am to enjoy it!
