A spirited attempt with an American cast that covers more of the story than the BBC adaption Review by Squidge
Overall Being English I at first found some of the accents used by the cast- with the honourable exception of the actor playing Gandalf- really awful. However as the play moved on my ears got used to this and I noticed them less and less.Unfortunately the worst voice was supplied by the actor playing Frodo and he also failed to supply any emotion into his character. This was a grave error in casting as Frodo is in so many scenes.
All in all I was glad I listened to this the production as it was very well adapted and covered far more of the book than the BBC production.
Well worth owning. (Posted on 6/8/11)
